[S1E15] Inner Strength

Iroh may have been an older man in the series, but his power and strength are undeniable. From his impressive fire bending techniques in Avatar: The Last Airbender to his cunning, those who underestimate him are quick to regret it. While in prison, Iroh tricked the guards and secretly built up his strength until he was insanely muscular. He warned Ming, a sympathetic guard (voiced by Serena Williams), of his plans and broke out with ease the next day. He went on to join the other members of the Order of the White Lotus to help the Avatar beat Ozai.

[S1E15] Inner Strength

  • While Ryan questions if he's truly a good person, Diabolico unleashes his three most powerful monsters on Mariner Bay. And even if Ryan manages to find his inner strength to help the Rangers, a deadly fate still awaits him.Tropes in this episode include: 10-Minute Retirement: Throughout this episode, Ryan leaves Mariner Bay to discover who he is to the point of even attempting to board a bus to Van Nuys. By the second half of the episode, however, Ryan decides to return to Mariner Bay, help rescue the children by throwing the exploding feather away from them, and rescue the Rangers just in time.

  • Balance, Speed, Strength Trio: The three demons. Demonite's the leader, Falkar's the quick one, and Thunderon's the Dumb Muscle.

  • Beware the Silly Ones: Or, Beware the Silly Scheme. Exploding feathers don't seem so dangerous on paper. In practice? Small, easily dispersed items that anyone can find and pick up, which can spread all over the city and go off like a large bomb in darkness prove to be a very dangerous thing.

  • Big Damn Heroes: Towards the end of this episode, Ryan rescues the Rangers from the three demons and in the process, he transforms into the Titanium Ranger.

  • Big "NO!": Ryan screams this when the cobra bit his neck in his nightmare.

  • Curb-Stomp Battle: The Rangers versus the demons. They get their behinds handed to them. The tables get reversed when Ryan shows up with the Titanium Morpher.

  • Double-Meaning Title: The episode title can mean two things: Ryan embracing his destiny as the Silver Ranger, or the deadly curse that Diabolico places on him.

  • Knight of Cerebus: The demon trio start a surprisingly dark (for Power Rangers) storyline, a massive shift in the status quo, and prove to be incredibly dangerous opponents.

  • Oh, Crap!: Ryan has a moment of silent horror when he realizes that the feather he gave to the young boy in the park is about to explode along with the other feathers.

  • Ryan again, when he wakes up from his nightmare to find the cobra tattoo is really on his back.

  • Saying Sound Effects Out Loud: Demonite explains to the Rangers that his feathers are harmless in the daytime but they explode at dark. He demonstrates this by saying "Zap!" to block out the sun with his powers.

  • That Was Not a Dream: At the end of the episode, Ryan has a nightmare where Diabolico curses him with a cobra tattoo that will move up his body every time he morphs, before eventually reaching his neck where it will fatally bite him. Upon waking up, Ryan checks his back in the mirror to see that the tattoo is really there.

  • Villainous Breakdown: Diabolico starts on his, with Queen Bansheera breathing down his neck, a new Ranger on the scene, and his supply of monsters all but exhausted.

The strength of any story (or sci-fi franchise) is in its characters, and Patrick Stewart gives a tour-de-force performance as he takes Picard through the loss of his old life, the halting acceptance of his new circumstances, and the devastation of returning home and learning he can never go home again. On this episode, we discuss the value of skepticism and critical thinking, the psychology of Kataan, trading your space program for top-notch VR, the most contextual flute song ever, good soup, and Captain Picard as the Ultimate Space Dad!

This book aims to provide a reference and checklist for every Wing Chun (Wing Tsun, Ving Tsun) practitioner. Consequently, each practitioner is then able to explore freely their applications, whilst still adhering to the basic core principles and shapes of the system. Remember that the structures in Wing Chun are simply tools, which, if fully understood in terms of shape, energy, structure and inherent lines of strength and weakness, can be deployed in a multitude of ways and scenarios.

Wing Chun is an event-driven, result-oriented self-defence system, originally developed in mainland China but refined in the sprawling concrete metropolis that is Hong Kong. Wing Chun is characterized by close-quarter simultaneous attack and defence hand techniques, utilization of only low kicks and simple, but efficient, footwork. It utilizes the natural triangulation of the human skeletal and muscular structure, in conjunction with efficient body mechanics, to give the techniques, positions and stances their inherent inner strength and hence their capability to withstand great force, eliminating the necessity to use and rely on size or strength. Wing Chun is suitable for anybody, regardless of age, gender, or physique.

Keen Magical Intelligence: Regina has shown on several occasion that her knowledge of the arcane is demonstrably better than most. She was also able to discern the effects of a makeshift sleeping curse her Evil Queen counterpart put on Marry Margaret and David, and eventually broke the curse through a makeshift spell of her own.
